Since the formation of this country, there has been complete consensus in its political, social, religious and cultural circles that this should happen, but to this day no one has been able to understand why we are not doing this. If the government takes this step, there will be applause everywhere, not a single voice will be raised in opposition, but it has been 75 years since any government has been able to do this and no government even knows why it is not doing this. Here, those who took the name of Islam came, enlightened liberals came, right-wingers came, left-wingers came, martial law came, the democratic era came, but no one could do it, although if any of them had taken this step, his name would have been written in golden letters, none of them even had an idea why they could not do it. Nawaz Sharif came, Shehbaz Sharif came, Imran Khan came, Asif Zardari came, General Zia-ul-Haq and General Musharraf came, each one did this here and there, changed the country’s policies, adopted new narratives, turned black into white in foreign policies, made a constitution, broke the constitution, imposed martial law, gave whipping sentences, people were thrown into jails and even opponents were hanged, but to end this poison that is a killer for the entire nation, has it not even been started to end it and no one has been able to find out till today why it was not done and why do they not do all this? Tell me, can there be a bigger problem than adulteration in a country? If not, then the question is why don’t the rulers eliminate adulteration? A government comes here and chews the noses of the opponents, but why is no step taken against those who adulterate milk, medicines and food, the enemies of our children. Be it democratic governments of the world, military or authoritarian, there is no concept of adulteration there, but in the land of contradictions, there is no suspicion of adulteration without anything, here there is adulteration in honey, those who mix brick spice in chillies, lime in medicines and poisonous chemicals in milk are roaming around in public. Why don’t we the people, our rulers, our generals, our politicians, eliminate adulteration? Suppose today Shahbaz Sharif makes the elimination of adulteration his first priority, then will the PTI, which opposes his every move, be able to say a single word in opposition? No, no one in the country will oppose him in this matter. There will be appreciation everywhere, applause everywhere, there will be a name in history, children will eat pure food, those coming from abroad will be able to use food and water without any doubts. If anyone can be a little bit against the elimination of adulteration, then he can only be an adulterator, but sometimes thieves and robbers have demonstrated till today that they should be given a free hand in theft and robbery? Has any murderer ever had the courage to say that the death penalty should be removed from the law. However, in 75 years, despite being in the overwhelming majority, we are afraid of a few adulterators. Legislative assemblies have not been able to formulate laws like those in America, Europe, and even China and Saudi Arabia so that a few black sheep, fearing adulteration, stop doing this work. Till date, has the courts given such a punishment to any adulterator that he becomes an example to be followed? High Courts and Supreme Courts have even hanged Prime Ministers and disqualified them from the Prime Ministership, but have they ever brought to an end any disgusting person who adulterated milk? There is not a single such example. The most capable judges of this country have rejected the laws made by the Parliament with a majority, but have they ever proposed any constitution regarding adulteration? Have hundreds of members of Parliament ever passed any law for the complete elimination of adulteration and the strictest punishments from Parliament? Of course, the answer is no. There will be laws against adulteration in this country, and punishments will also be recorded. There is also a police department, during the martial law era, the army also made arrests, there is a food department, now the food authorities are also active, but it is possible that the monster of adulteration has made even the slightest difference. We are busy winning and losing political battles. We participate loudly in discussions on prosperity, hope and despair, but we have never made the elimination of adulteration, the biggest sin, the worst social practice and the most dangerous thing in terms of health, a priority from an Islamic perspective. Even if dollars come from America, dirhams and riyals come from the Emirates and Saudi Arabia, even if financial aid comes from China, but we continue to eat adulterated, poor quality food, what kind of prosperity will this be? There was adulteration in America too. In the 1920s, such legislation was passed that made adulteration impossible, such severe punishments were given that no one can even think of adulteration. In the small Gulf countries, everything is free from adulteration. We are the world’s first Islamic nuclear power, a powerful army, and an Islamic democratic constitution, but we are helpless in the face of adulteration. The reason for this is solely our priorities. Today, if any party raises the flag of ending adulteration from the country, Parliament makes the strictest laws against adulteration, judges give exemplary decisions, do not spare the accused under any circumstances, state institutions decide that adulteration should not be allowed, and we the people do not give any concessions to those who commit adulteration, then ending adulteration will become very easy. I wish someone would take the initiative.
