Politics and society, loyalty and disloyalty, his and mine, love and indifference all this has been continuing since eternity and will continue like this.

It is the matter of good days; pleasant conversations were happening.

Governor Salman Taseer was cheerful and fond of chat.

Though about religion he was completely unaware of sensitivity, and despite being explained, he would ignore (it).

But he was an expert in the subtleties and intricacies of romance, politics, and business.

He used to say that I earn money from business and spend it on politics.

Business is not my passion; my passion is politics.

I feel happy spending money on my favorite pastime.

One day, the gathering was lively; the talk from politics reached romance and scandal.

The mention of a beautiful parliamentarian of Pakistan and her disloyalty with a businessman arose.

Salman Taseer was the son of the poet Muhammad Deen Taseer, adorned with a delicate sense of beauty.

He drew such a painful picture of his businessman friend’s wealth being ruined and of his beloved’s indifferences and her acquaintances with rivals that the attendees of the gathering, coming into a trance, were making sorrowful comments on the beloved’s disloyalties.

Then I, in an extremely serious tone, submitted:

“What is the fun in loving a loyal beloved? The real pleasure is in loving an unfaithful beloved. That is why poets have been composing on unfaithful beloveds for centuries. That is why Mir Taqi Mir, from whom he fell ill, keeps taking medicine again and again from that same Attar’s boy.”

Anyway, on my this strange and against the world’s custom statement, the romance-loving Salman Taseer flared up.

I, while enjoying, said:

“The poet likes the unfaithful more, because he has to allure them again and again, has to try again and again, has to fight with rivals and has to draw the beloved’s attention toward himself this indeed is love-play. Otherwise, if the beloved is loyal, then the end is marriage then where is love and where is disloyalty or where is loyalty?”

Love with the unfaithful is a challenge, an adventure, a war the pleasures of which Mir, Ghalib, and romantic poets take.

Salman Taseer, till the last breath, kept enjoying the philosophy of “love with the unfaithful” and used to narrate this story laughingly to every intimate friend.

In politics and romance, rejecting the unfaithful and getting rid of them is considered a better decision.

Be they Gandapur or Pervez Khattak, the followers of Insaf (PTI people) become happy over the dismissal of the unfaithful ones.

But would Ghalib and Mir also have considered the unfaithful that bad?

My thought is that they also liked the unfaithful.

The way Gandapur, after the saying of Imran Khan, at once gave resignation whether misunderstandings about him will be removed or not this decision the historian of the future will make, when after Gandapur the future of Tehreek-e-Insaf in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be determined.

This world belongs to conquerors, to the brave, to the powerful, and to the wealthy.

But is there no place for the defeated ones, the cowardly, the weak, and the poor?

God has indeed made this world for everyone, but in reality, the powerful have made the world of the weak narrow.

If some unfaithful one takes the side of the conquerors, the powerful, and the wealthy, then what is there bad to take in it?

The unfaithful beloved also did what is the custom of the world.

But God has kept full space in this world also for the weak and the defeated.

The unfaithful ones too have to live in this same world they too, like poets, should be given place in the heart.

True kings treat other kings and true gurus treat other gurus like kings.

The victorious ones why do they not make a relation like Sikandar and Porus with the defeated ones?

Heer, even after marrying Syed Khehra, does not end her love, rather increases it even more.

Ask about the importance of loving the unfaithful from Majnun’s madness.

Ask about the importance of the unfaithful from Mustafa Zaidi, who left the whole world for Shehnaz Gul.

Whether the beloved will show loyalty or disloyalty when Sohni was drowning in the stormy waves of the Chenab on the unbaked pitcher,

did she think of loyalty and disloyalty?

No.

As a humble student of history, the meanings and interpretations of loyalty and disloyalty are also of different kinds.

Sometimes your loyal friends, despite their sincerity, are throwing you into a blind well,

and many times the unfaithful ones, the path which they are showing you, that is the path of success and safety.

Gandapur’s thinking of reconciliation with the establishment for some, was based on disloyalty to Khan,

while perhaps for some, his this disloyalty was based on wisdom

and could be the possible solution for coming out of crisis.

For some, the loyalty of Sohail Afridi may be the reward of making him Chief Minister,

but for others, this same loyalty may be disloyalty, treachery, and mischief against the powerful.

Prince Khusro was the favorite grandson of the Mughal-e-Azam Emperor Akbar.

He was the elder son of Jahangir.

The loyalists of Prince Khusro made him ready for war against his father Jahangir.

Khusro was considered by Akbar more intelligent than his son Salim alias Sheikho or Jahangir.

But Jahangir gathered with himself the majority of the commanders of the Mughal court that is, the establishment of that time.

Jahangir was more liked by the Iranian, Afghani, and Turani courtiers,

although Akbar’s nine jewels Abul Fazl and others were against Jahangir.

The loyalists of Emperor Akbar used to say to him that do not make Salim the successor,

but the writer of destiny had written something else.

Khusro had the support of his grandfather Akbar; his mother was Man Bai, known as Shah Begum,

but the Mughal establishment could not become sympathetic.

In the time of Jahangir himself, Emperor Khurram Shah Jahan first made his brother Khusro blind

and then had him killed.

Before sitting on the throne, Shah Jahan also in Lahore had all the rival princes put to the sword.

Now the question is:

the loyalists of Khusro could not read the future,

and their own best candidate they brought first to blindness and then to killing.

History proved the unfaithful of Khusro correct.

The people of loyalty, in the passion and madness of loyalty,

by showing faithfulness, burn their own hearts and place them on the palm.

Whereas the people of cruelty or the unfaithful, many times by consulting with sense and intellect,

show you an unpleasant path.

It is true that Shakespeare declared Brutus unfaithful

and made Julius Caesar, despite dreaming of turning the republic into monarchy, a hero.

It will have to be seen whether the feeling of loyalty and disloyalty has to be measured by intellect and results,

or by the feeling of emotions and passion.

From seeing and examining one same incident in two different ways,

the results come completely different.

In today’s Pakistani politics, the YouTubers of Imran Khan are counted among his sincere and true companions.

Those who differ from the thinking of Gandapur or Imran Khan are the unfaithful ones, the traitors to the party leader.

It will have to be seen whether the loyalty that appears today will be able to give political benefit to Imran tomorrow,

or those who apparently are being unfaithful to Imran will be proved correct in history.

Time itself is the biggest test.

Whether Gandapur’s politics has ended or from today it will begin —

for that, the coming time will have to be awaited…..!
