The estimate is that what is bound to happen is about to happen, fate will inevitably take its course, and the moon is about to rise. Where does the written destiny ever get averted? Once the spur is applied to the horse of politics, reigning it back becomes difficult; once the pieces of a well-arranged game of chess are shaken, putting them back in their place becomes nearly impossible. From the declaration of the system’s destruction to the court order transferring the prisoner to Al-Shifa Hospital, and then to the bizarre execution of that order—this journey has opened doors to many new questions on all these matters. No matter how much anyone claims that the colors of the game remain the same and will stay that way, this cannot be believed. A lot of water has flowed under the bridges; politics has broken its stagnation and entered the realm of dynamism. Now, without understanding and rationalizing a succession of events, understanding the next destinations will become even more difficult.
Let us use our limited intellect to make wild guesses to understand the situation in its political context. The learned and enlightened ones, as well as the courtly and government bards, must know the actual facts, but this penniless and powerless scribe can only make guesses. Therefore, these estimates should be regarded as mere illusions rather than news—those who receive revelations are, after all, great people.
Humble people like us can only cook imaginary pulao (castles in the air); so, let us savor the taste of this imaginary pulao dish without any broth. Was it not necessary to consider the timing in the declaration of the system’s destruction? The current federal government has already spent more than half of its tenure. Despite the Prime Minister’s “day and night” hard work, neither has a political narrative been built, nor has any prominent step of progress been seen in the economy. In such circumstances, talk of the system’s collapse came through the mouth of a federal minister, but in reality, it reflects state thinking. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the pivotal authority of the current political system, was already aware of this state thinking; hence, he has not yet commented on the destruction of the system and the “Reset,” and the N-League, after initial provocation, has also considered silence to be the better part of discretion.
Was the Supreme Court’s decision to take the Insafi stranger (Imran Khan) from prison to Al-Shifa Hospital accidental or planned? Was it an explosion? A firecracker (shirli), or the first strike of the Reset drama? The N-League wiseacres reassure that this was not a strike but a firecracker that was inadvertently set off. An inadvertent mistake was made by someone, but when the smoke began to rise, it was ensured that he was taken to a government hospital instead of Al-Shifa, and both the state and politics were involved in this act. According to the N-League wiseacre, this was not a Reset, but a Course Re-correction.
It was not a re-set effort, rather the action proved to be course Re-correction of the perception of any deal or plan.
From the government’s implementation, it appeared that the impression of a deal or planning was wrong, and nothing is going to change immediately. On the other hand, the “unnamed” ones of the city of Kufa tell conspiratorial stories. According to this fable, it became clear upon the very constitution of that Supreme Court bench that the Insafi stranger sitting in jail could get relief. According to them, if there were no planning, steps would have been taken beforehand to prevent this decision, or solutions would have been thought out in advance; but no news was received of anything like that being considered anywhere. These “unnamed conspirators” regard even the constitution of the bench as a link in the Reset plan. They also tell this true-or-false tale that an important member of the state had assured Barrister Gohar that the decision would be implemented and he would be sent to Al-Shifa itself, hiding the expectation that PTI’s overt help would be received in the Reset plan and the establishment of new administrative units or provinces, thereby allowing PTI to easily re-enter the national political mainstream. According to this conspiracy story, if the court decision had been implemented verbatim, the season of political weather would have changed.
When the “unnamed” was asked that if all this was planning, why could it not be implemented verbatim? The “unnamed” replied in a “knowingly or unknowingly” manner that the reason for this was the N-League’s wailing and displeasure. Naser Butt, the N-League senator from Rawalpindi, openly said that a conspiracy against the N-League government has started once again. The ears of the N-League elders not only stood up but were also seen turning red. What happened next was that the plan was revised, and the direction of the caravan was turned toward PIMS instead of Al-Shifa.
The N-League wiseacre called this conspiracy an inadvertent mistake, while the conspiratorial “unnamed” ones are calling it a temporary pause. The Insafi strangers think that more offers will come; if it was not implemented this time, it will be implemented next time.
In the under-discussion “what is bound to happen” or “rising of the moon,” the Pipli crazy one (Zardari) residing on the highest peak of Margalla plays a crucial role. It is heard that he is sitting ready to leave power and go home. The “eccentric journalist” shared a strange thing, saying that the people of Punjab are very wise and life-loving; they can even sacrifice their lives for their present state, prosperity, and development. But Sindhis and Balochs are death-worshippers; traditions of death are taken with great pride there, and it is pondered as to how someone died. Akbar Bugti chose a “Golden Death” for himself. The Pipli crazy one is otherwise a player of political chess and a gambler in the arena of power, but inside this Baloch hides a madman too, who might suddenly place a Sindhi cap on his bald head and choose a golden death like Akbar Bugti—because unlike an ordinary man, he does not want to descend into the grave alongside Hakim Ali Zardari and his mother in the cemetery of Nawabshah. He wishes to attain such a status that he may find companionship in the cemetery of Garhi Khuda Bakhsh alongside the martyr queen of Sindh, Benazir Bhutto, and the king of the Sindh Sagar, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.
The “eccentric journalist” keeps boasting like this; it is possible that this too is just a boast. The Pipli crazy one is not that crazy; he is a proper man of the world, accustomed to comfort and high luxuries. The path to a golden death passes through trials and prisons; the Pipli crazy one will no longer be able to go through those stages.
Since the “eccentric journalist” is intoxicated (in his own element), he often indulges in antics. Nowadays he is saying that “what is bound to happen” is about to happen, the moon is about to rise, the Reset agenda will not stop, it will continue; whether anyone accepts it or not, if someone doesn’t accept it, they can go wherever they want. The cat is out of the bag (the secret is out); in the next few days, the secret will reveal itself in full public view. For the country’s development, a Reset will take place, new provinces will also be created, the center’s financial share will also increase, and everything written in destiny will happen. All documents are ready, plans have been thought out, work on the district economy is happening rapidly; reforms will begin this year, and their full implementation will start next year.
When the “eccentric” was asked that there are many risks in the Reset—blood could shed in Sindh, separatism could be promoted in Balochistan, unrest could increase in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and nationalism could awaken in Punjab—the “eccentric journalist” replied that national development plans cannot be abandoned out of fear of apprehension. What is bound to happen is about to happen; the horse has been spurred, and now it cannot be stopped!
